Mollie Marie Seabourne

Mollie B. Seabourne passed away August 27, 2013 at the age of 99 in West Columbia Texas. She was born Mollie Marie Bane on September 11, 1913 in Fairbanks, Texas to John Floyd Bane and Fannie Susan Burrow, who preceded her in death. She was the last surviving child of J.F. Bane, one Trustee who contributed to the creation of the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District. Others preceding her in death were her sisters Lou Virginia (Bane) White, Bessie Lee (Bane) Thompson and her brothers (Bill) William Lee Bane, (Bud) John Floyd Bane Jr. Mollie married Wallace B. Sims on December 24, 1932; he passed away on April 19, 1976. In 1977, she married Chester Alexander Seabourne Jr. November 10, 1977 who passed away on November 16, 2003. Mollie is survived by her nieces Judith Ann Evans, Vada de Jongh, and Ruth Anne Stanton who were her loving care givers these past few years. There are many other nieces and nephews, once twice and three times removed too numerous to name but loving family members. There were many special people in Mollie’s (Sissie’s) life and she was known and loved by many. She was a long time resident of West Columbia from 1935 to 2013, member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church in East Columbia, Texas. She was an employee of Dow Chemical, where she was a guard and a longtime employee of the Community Public Service, West Columbia, Texas. She was a faithful supporter of the American Legion Post 503, West Columbia, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 30, 2013 at Bethel Presbyterian Church in East Columbia, TX with Rev. Debbie Measells officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Bethel Presbyterian Church. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 am also at Bethel Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at Columbia Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be John Floyd Bane III, Joe C. de Jongh, Chris Stanton, Mackey Evans, Joe de Jongh and Charles Stanton. Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Stanton, Darrin Stanton, and Jacob de Jongh.
